This is me going into more detail. If you need even more, reach out! |
Matt Brown // tederickMy name is Matt Brown. I make movies, write about other peoples' movies, podcast about the movie business, and run the One Minute Film & Video Festival. Want to skip straight to the films? A bunch of my short films and amusing miscellany are online. My shorts have also screened publically in Toronto, New York, Berlin, Seoul, Rotterdam, Karachi, Gimli, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I blame Star Wars for all this; so should you. I followed the Easy Riders, Raging Bulls dream and went to film school at York University from 1995-1999. The experience successfully beat the creative juice out of me for many years, so after graduating I co-founded a successful web development firm (Bearshark) before moving on to become an instructional designer and social media consultant at a major telecommunications company. In 2010 I came to my senses and returned to the film world full-time, freelancing in capacities while continuing to write, direct, and develop film projects for festival and theatrical distribution. My podcast, Mamo!, has been running since 2005 with no sign of stopping. I am an avid attendee of the Toronto International Film Festival, and count myself lucky to live in Toronto, the film festival capital of the world. I am available for freelance in the areas of:
In my free time I walk everywhere, read comic books, support sexual rights, and think about things. I enjoy watching things smash and break apart, once sat behind Ellen Page in a movie theatre, and am terrified of animated mice. I live in downtown Toronto with four hundred action figures, one cat, and not my girlfriend (officially). |
