January 31st, 2002Occulo Reparo! Because it wasn't bad enough that I reached up to adjust my glasses last night and the damned things broke in half.... I wake up this morning with thoughts of going to get a new pair, and that blizzard I've been warning everybody about has bodyslammed the city of T.O. Joy! Wonder! Sighs and much head hurtage! So here's the going theory: 1. Prints of Fellowship of the Ring will be given new last reels in March, containing preview footage from The Two Towers. 2. The "theatrical cut" of Fellowship will hit DVD in the summer. 3. The "special edition" cut of the film, with about 30 minutes of MoreBiggerBetter, will hit DVD just before the new film comes out. Today's big yikes: CBS has decided to move the final episode of Survivor 4 out of Thursday night.... and instead has put it up against the last-ever episode of The X Files! Now tell me how that makes one bit of sense? (I know, I know, you can take the boy out of the SURVIV.ORg...) I WANT EPISODE 2 TOYS NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW January 30th, 2002Oh, there it is: my-penis.org/ Symmetry really is everything. Well, not specifically in penises and vaginas (vaginae?) because who am I to complain if one side's bigger than the other or if there's a really noticeable warp. But you get my point. Been having tons of fun the last few days recording commentary tracks for the eventual DVDs of my movies.... I never thought I'd have anything particularly incisive to say in a commentary track (and I do not yet maintain that such adjectives necessarily apply), but I'll tell ya: once I get going, I start wishing the movie was three times longer! January 29th, 2002You really can find everything on the internet: myvag.net January 28th, 2002WOO HOO!! After months of turmoil, the final shooting day of Bone Daddy 2 has finally been locked in place - it's this Saturday. That makes me so happy, I think I'll visit the Bone Daddy site! Just a reminder to all who might be interested, the Buffy cycle starts from the very beginning tonight on Space - and it's a hell of a five-month ride. January 26th, 2002Tederick.com's march to glory continues with the reinstatement of my custom action figures, in their own complete and authoritative online museum. They run the gamut from the refreshingly obscure to the truly legendary. Check 'em out! Happiness is: Keira Knightley nude scene. Sadness is: no more daily Buffy. I've seen 'em all. What do I do now? January 25th, 2002Shamrock Shakes are back at McDonalds! GOLDEN AGE! GOLDEN AGE! January 24th, 2002Kabuki Schooner slipped me their first EP yesterday, which is a lovely exploration of those golden years, 1997 and 1998. In any event I'm going to be putting their site together in the next week or so and you can read more about them then. Everybody has a band! I would be remiss if I didn't at least address the week's Big News, which is the so-called confirmation on Sunday night from Spielberg that once he's done with Minority Report and Catch Me If You Can, he's moving on to Indy IV. The major hole in this theory is the fact that Lucas will be tied up with Star Wars through 2005, and I find it very difficult to believe that Georgie Boy would have limited involved in the fourth Indy project. So even if it is true, and there finally is a finished script in place, I can't imagine we'll be seeing Dr. Jones for a few more years at least. January 23rd, 2002![]() Because it's purple! January 22nd, 2002Here's how good it is to be me right now: For the last couple of weeks, it's been preview crazy over at starwars.com, where they're rolling out advance images of just about every toy we're going to be blessed with on April 22nd. (That's right, three months today; the toys come out a month before the film.) Today it's lightsabres, and that Dooku blade looks just phenomenal. (The bad news corollary to this is that I've given up collecting Simpsons toys with the exception of the Jasper set that will be coming in June. A Star Wars Year is a time for focus.) But wait! There's more! Did that feature draft on the weekend, got Jessica Fletcher's first single coming out tomorrow, got two Woogies instead of one, I'm hot for Harry book 5, and for the first time in my life, I had the definitive answer to my parents' "where is your life going" cross-examination. About a year ago, my world was becoming decidedly purple-tinted, and I thought it was the drugs so I said: NO DRUGS! but now I see it was the purple spectacles... and they're krazyglued to my head January 21st, 2002Here he is, folks, Ken Branagh as Professor Lockhart: ![]() Inquiring minds want to know: where's the perrywinkle blue? The demise of SURVIV.ORg means changes, changes, changes at tederick.com... some stuff that I've been after for a long time, like the Online Jasper Index, will be along in a little while. January 19th, 2002![]() I've completed a major phase in the development of the feature draft for The Storm... that actual moment where you type "THE END." Now that the structure's in place I have detailed notes for the interior content, but getting from A to B sure feels good. Bloody thing still gives me the wiggins too... The poll results are in... I've decided to not die. January 18th, 2002X Files: Next Generation no longer. Fox has announced that rather than continue the series without Gillian Anderson, The X Files will be concluding its run in May. I caught the series for the first time this season on the weekend, and I have to admit it was a hell of a better episode than I was expecting, pornographic e-mails between Mulder and Scully notwithstanding (no, I'm not joking). Here's hoping they can put something really nifty together to bring it all to a close. January 17th, 2002![]() It was irritating enough that I spent ten weeks tuning into the unmitigated dreck that Paramount affectionately calls Enterprise, but the fact that I was doing so at the expense of getting into Smallville.... well, I'm downright pissed off. I've been watching Smallville for a couple of weeks now, and it's a fantastic show. Great cast - jeez, could they have picked a better Superman? - it kinda all plays out like Buffy with a male lead. I was furious that I'd missed the first few episodes, until I realized that we live in a Golden Age and the entire library of episodes was available on Morpheus. Yay internet! Cuz when ya just gotta, it's gonna. I'm just going to take a moment to throw one out to Babs Yuen, who wrote the most astonishingly sadistic and cruel letter I have ever read in my life. It was many years ago now, but I just stumbled across it and had another look... and man alive, it's breathtaking. I may post it here tomorrow for all to see because really, acts of emotional annihilation like this come along once in a lifetime and must be opened up for study. My hat is off, Barbie, with a lot of admiration. January 15th, 2002Crazy busy times - between SURVIV.ORg, deadend.com, CTAC and puf-diss, I feel like I've been sitting at this computer for a year. Wait a minute, I have been sitting at this computer for a year. The first still from Chamber of Secrets hit the internet yesterday, but it's just a two-shot of Ron and Harry, so I won't put it up here. Also, word's out that a rather sadistic looking fellow named Jason Isaacs will be playing Lucius Malfoy in both this and the fourth film. Fans of Buffy are no doubt aware that the Queen of Slayage reaches DVD today, in a complete first season boxed set. Season 2 is expected in June, with two seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation between now and then. It's going to be a big year for television on DVD. Still no word on Simpsons 2. And finally, the score for Episode II is being recorded in London as I write, which just fills me with pleasant wiggles. January 13th, 2002I gots the bandwidth blues but bad. But hey, that's the price you keep paying and paying and paying for being successful! The Director Dolls collection begins... because at the end of the day, it just seems right to have Quentin Tarantino pointing a gun at me while I work. January 11th, 2002I got a lot of very nice messages in my inbox this morning, a cavalcade of praise and thanks for the entire SURVIV.ORg experience. (And at least one "noooooooooooooooo!" Ewan would be so pleased.) It made me feel better, rather than worse, about closing the site.... like I done my thang, and I'm movin' on. (I gots a tick on ma ass....) And thankfully, not too many I-told-you-so's about damned Ethan. A whole year of my life.... wow. January 10th, 2002Well, Lex didn't win Survivor... and I'm SO FUCKING PISSED OFF THAT I'M CLOSING SURVIV.ORG FOREVER!!!! Take that!! DAMN YOU ALL!!!! The yobs are going to go berserk. Send in the yobs.... January 9th, 2002
No, that's all right, I didn't need that head. January 8th, 2002Best domain name I've heard so far in 2002: Decent looking site, too; kind of tederick.comesque in its meandering self absorption. January 7th, 2002Another day, another Survivor casting call, another opportunity for Canadians to be left out in the cold. I sigh. I sigh very, very loudly. I was going to reinstate the "snapshot of the week" feature here at Tederick.com, but being told repeatedly that it was the best feature the site's ever had - which makes one wonder why anyone's been coming by in the year since its demise - was irritating enough to abolish that concept. So here's a snapshot, the only one you're going to get for the rest of ever: ![]() It's called "mmm... Cheerios." And no, trying to colour-correct a Joycam isn't any fun. January 6th, 2002Harry Potter and the Philosopher's
Stone This week we must, with difficulty, bid farewell and good luck to Daniel Arato (D-To), who is going to make a try for the brass ring and actually undertake filmmaking... in Hollywood! While this will undoubtedly prove a wise move for him, those of us back here in T.O. must of course look upon it with some sadness. Good luck, Dan; the Lakeview won't be the same without you. January 5th, 2002A pantload of Episode II toy pics have hit the internet in the past few weeks, and among them, a delightful surprise: ![]() For those who miss the significance, it's a return to the original, telescoping-into-the-arm sabre blades of the vintage figure line! This isn't a feature of all the toys, but apparently some of them will have the extending sabre feature of the hallowed originals. This is just neat! January 4th, 2002God help me when the wags find out it's here, but: ![]() yum January 3rd, 2002It's today's Stupid Link: Igor.com January 2nd, 2002I think it took all the 2's in the date to really make me clue it in but yep, it's for real baby, WE'RE IN A STAR WARS YEAR!! Then I got some really frightening news from Monkey but I won't repeat it here. Let's focus on the positive: a whole can o' Jedi whup-ass being opened in a rainshower. Tangent: I will soon be very broke. January 1st, 2002Yep that's right! It's the year of the twos! Boy, some people (me) never learn: don't go to parties on Venus. I mean.... it's Venus for crying out loud. I'm in the IMDB! Again! Yup, technically it's me: Gregor McEwan ARCHIVE |
