JASPER: SEASON 1
Episodes:
Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire - No
appearance
Bart the Genius - No appearance
Homer's Odyssey - In what is believed to be his
first appearance in a Simpsons episode, Jasper is visible in the town council
meeting. When Wiggum passes around a photograph of suspected vandal "El Bardo,"
Jasper peers at the photo over Homer's shoulder and whispers his very first
line.
Dialogue:
JASPER: "Oooh... tough customer!
Special Note: Jasper's voice in this episode
is very different from the Jasper we have come to know, and it sounds more
similar to Grampa Simpson.
There's No Disgrace Like Home - No
appearance
Bart the General - When Bart visits Grampa at
the Retirement Castle, he tells the receptionist that he is "here to see
Grampa." Instantly, a dozen seniors (including Jasper) stick their heads out of
their room to see if they are the chosen one. As they retreat back to their
cubicles, we hear Jasper's trademark grumble for the first time in the series.
This is immediately followed by Jasper's first full scene on The
Simpsons, and the first time we see him interact with Grampa. Just as
Grampa explaining to Bart the need to stand up to bullies, Jasper walks in and
demands Grampa's newspaper, because he wants to do the crossword puzzle. The
two fight over the paper and play tug-of-war with it until Grampa finally
relents, and Jasper walks away, chuckling. Jasper's voice is still in the
developmental stages here but bears a clear resemblance to the ultra-bass
rumble it would eventually become.
Dialogue:
JASPER: "Simpson! Gimme that
newspaper!"
Moaning Lisa - No appearance
Call of the Simpsons - No appearance
The Telltale Head - Jasper can be seen in
Church, and later at the Retirement Castle.
Life on the Fast Lane - No appearance
