JASPER: THE MAN

Jasper, the focus of this archive, is a recurring character
on The Simpsons, an elderly man who lives at the Springfield
Retirement Castle with Grampa Simpson, Homer Simpson's father.
Jasper's Wikipedia page, which dares infringe on the sovereign
ground originally conquered by this very web site, can be
found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jasper_Beardley#Jasper_Beardly
Confirmed facts about Jasper:
Jasper is in his nineties. (Note: the Wikipedia entry disagrees
with this. Jasper's age can be confirmed, however, based on
when he sits down during the efforts to crown a new Springfield's
Oldest Resident in "The Mansion Family.")
Jasper is a resident of the Springfield Retirement
Castle, the leading local care facility for seniors. He is in room 26.
From season 11 onward, Jasper is Springfield's
second-oldest man, behind Mr. Burns.
Jasper and Grampa once shared a bathroom. It is
unclear if this is at the Springfield Retirement Castle, or at some time
earlier in their lives.
Jasper has a granddaughter, which means he must have
one or more children. The identity of his family is unknown.
Jasper's last name is Beardly. (Note: the Wikipedia entry
misspells the last name. As the name was revealed in writing
in "Homer's Paternity Coot," it is difficult to
understand how such an error could have taken place.)
Jasper is a member of the church council at the First
Church of Springfield.
Jasper has some ballet experience, and remains
extraordinarily flexible for his age, especially given that he has a false
leg.
Jasper knows Kung Fu and can still show off some
complicated moves.
Jasper (and presumably, the entire Retirment Castle)
are given the new 939 area code when the town is divided into two codes.
Jasper is a veteran. He served in the United States
Army.
Jasper is most often seen in the company of (some
combination of) Grampa Simpson, the Crazy Old Man, and Hans Moleman.
Jasper is voiced by Harry Shearer. Shearer also voices
Otto the busdriver, whose voice is essentially Jasper's, with a surfer accent.
Jasper's voice is also remarkably similar to the judge in the Court of the
Damned in "Treehouse of Horror IV."
