JASPER: SEASON 7

Episodes:

Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part 2 - Jasper plays an integral part in the investigation of the attack on Mr. Burns. It is revealed that after Smithers left the town hall at 2:55 (five minutes before Mr. Burns was shot), his drunken stumbling attracted the ire of Jasper, who tried to grab hold of him and settle him down. The gun-wielding Smithers fired off a shot, which became embedded in Jasper's wooden leg. Jasper is questioned by the police at the Retirement Castle (where his room number is revealed to be 26). Later in the episode, his vintage card collides with the prison van transporting Homer to jail, allowing Homer to escape, Fugitive-style. At the conclusion of the episode, Jasper is later visible in Mr. Burns' hospital room when the identity of the assailant is revealed.

Dialogue:

JASPER: "Slow down... sidewalks are for regular walkin', not for fancy walkin'!"

JASPER: "You simmer down, and I'll let you go."

JASPER: "That's real spruce. You like it?"

JASPER: "You shot who in the what now?"

JASPER: "Damn fools! Drive-thru's not for a' parkin'!"

Special Note: When the DNA computer scrolls through all of Springfield's surnames, "Beard" is one of the names listed. This may be an early draft of Jasper's surname, which is later revealed to be "Beardly."

Dialogue:

JASPER: "Ten cents!"

JASPER: "Aw, I only brought a dime. I didn't know there'd be pornography."

DR. HIBBERT: "Bart, telling you that would violate the patient-doctor privilege, just as if I were to tell you that Jasper here has five seconds to live."
JASPER: "What did he say?"
MRS. GLICK: "He said I'm next!"

Lisa the Iconoclast - Jasper attends the Springfield Bicentennial parade, in his WWII army uniform. He stands with Grampa and the Crazy Old Man, who are also uniformed.

Dialogue:

JASPER: "Gimme a Van Heflin."

Reference Note: Van Heflin is an American actor who appeared in a number of westerns in the 30s, 40s and 50s. You can read his IMDB profile here. Thanks to "Pappy" for the tip!
